Applying for Financial Aid

The desire of Vidalia Heritage Academy is to offer a quality Christian education to as many families as possible, regardless of their social, financial, or socioeconomic backgrounds. With the goals of excellence and affordability in mind, Vidalia Heritage Academy offers financial aid to families based on need and availability. This includes, but is not limited to, general scholarships and financial aid awards as well as discounted tuition for families with multiple children.

Vidalia Heritage Academy cannot meet 100% of the demonstrated need for each applicant, and, frequently, the number of qualified applicants exceeds our financial aid resources. Therefore, some families who apply and are qualified still may not receive financial aid. However, grant amounts are dependent upon each individual family’s need.

Need-based financial aid is awarded annually, and renewal is not automatic or guaranteed as funds may vary and a family’s finances may change. Families are required to submit applications annually.

Vidalia Heritage Academy offers financial aid to families based on need and availability of funds. Eligibility does not guarantee you will be rewarded financial aid.

To apply:

  1. You must register your child(ren) before you are eligible to apply for financial aid.
  2. Complete the one-page scholarship and financial aid application.
  3. Return the application to the VHA School Office. Your application will then be submitted to the VHA Financial Aid Committee and you will be notified of any financial aid award.

Financial aid applications should be submitted before May 15 for both current families and newly enrolling families. Aid applications received after this date will be considered as they are received.

All financial aid awards are re-evaluated annually. Families are required to submit scholarship/financial aid requests annually as funds may vary and a family's finances may change. Need-based financial aid is awarded annually, and renewal is not automatic or guaranteed.

For newly enrolling families, it is important to know that you must apply for admission and then financial aid. Your financial aid information is processed as you take the necessary steps to complete admission.

Current families should make scholarship/financial aid requests before May 15 of each year prior to the first tuition payment date for the subsequent school year. Aid applications received after this date will be considered as they are received.

All financial aid at Vidalia Heritage Academy is awarded based on demonstrated financial need – there are no athletic or merit-based financial aid awards at VHA. In order to receive aid, a family must first complete and submit the financial aid application. Supporting documents (such as the front page of the family’s most recent Federal Tax Return, disclosure of the family’s Adjusted Gross Income, or other income sources) may be required to complete the application. This will accurately, thoroughly, and confidentially allow the Scholarship Committee to evaluate the need of any family seeking aid and award tuition assistance accordingly. All scholarship and financial aid funds are limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

All of VHA's financial aid dollars comes through a combination of resources:

  1. VHA dedicates a percentage of the annual operating budget exclusively to financial aid.
  2. The Georgia Education Tax Credit Program (a re-allocation of state tax dollars awarded through the Alyn Scholarship Fund to VHA by friends/family who contribute to the program)
  3. Georgia Promise Scholarship Program

Vidalia Heritage Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights and privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in admission of its educational policies, scholarship and financial aid programs, athletic, and other school-administered programs.
