VHA - Our History

Vidalia Heritage Academy began through the prayers of the founding families with the purpose of “providing for young people the development of character and academic excellence from a Christian foundation and perspective in a Christian environment.”

In 1998, VHA began with 48 students and five teachers in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade that met in the former First Baptist Church Education Center in downtown Vidalia. VHA experienced tremendous growth and in 2012 and 2013 expanded to include grades preschool through 12th grade. During this time, the property at 207 East Second Street was purchased and grades 6th-12th moved to the Upper School Building. In 2016, the school purchased the former Vidalia Recreation Department facilities and began construction of the current VHA Athletic Complex. These additions allowed the further development of the school’s programming, extracurricular offerings, student body, and the first graduating class of the school.

Today, VHA is a growing, vibrant, Christ-centered school that has served thousands of children, students, and families.
