Summer Reading
Dear Parents, The summer reading program at Vidalia Heritage Academy is a way to develop in your child a love for reading and to maintain a current level of skills that your child has worked to achieve during the school year. There are two components to our program: · Mandatory Reading—These are books that must be read and reported on for your child’s first grade of the year. All Mandatory Reading Books are available for purchase in the School Office (of course, feel free to check them out in local libraries if you can find them). VHA will buy the book back from you after the first day of school for half of the original purchase price. - Selected Reading—Your child will be required to read a certain number of books (depending on grade) from our published lists. These are books that must be read and reported on for your child’s second grade of the year. These books may be checked out of local libraries or purchased at bookstores.
We hope that you will enthusiastically support this program and make reading a part of your child’s summer. Happy Reading! Jeff McCormick, Headmaster
