School Uniform Dress Code

2010 – 2011 School Year

(adopted at the Board of Directors Meeting on 4/23/07)

Philosophy of Dress Code:

Vidalia Heritage Academy believes that the use of school uniforms projects an atmosphere of uniformity, pride, loyalty, and equality among students.  Uniforms help in removing some of the distractions normally confronted when children face the dilemma of possessing the latest designer fashions or the latest fad sweeping the nation at any given time.  School uniforms also tend to involve students more and to make them part of a "team" at the school.  This is not so much to erase their individuality, but to include everyone at the same level as far as image and dress is concerned.

Where to Purchase Uniforms:

Many department stores carry our uniforms.  Please make sure if you purchase from them that you are purchasing the correct style.  Please use this guide along with the Buckhead Brochure (available in the school office) to see the styles required.  You may also purchase directly from Buckhead (www.buckheaduniforms.com).  French Toast (www.FrenchToast.com) is also a company where our uniforms are available.  You can purchase these from a store in Macon Called “Sock Shoppe”, on Mercer University Drive.

We have emblems for sale in the school office for jackets and sweaters.  They are $5.00 each.  No emblems, logos, or outer labels other than approved VHA emblems or logos are permitted on the school uniform.

For any shirts that you may buy locally, we suggest that you contact Pitch-N-Stitch for having the school logos applied.  Their phone number is 537-4278.  Logos are required on all golf shirts.

Additional Information concerning the Dress Code:

Please note that the following list is not exhaustive.  We reserve the right to interpret it as we see fit.  If you have concerns, please contact the office during regular business hours.

Please be mindful that we gladly accept used uniforms in good condition for our resale closet.  All clothes for resale must be delivered to the school office by June 26, 2008.  This is a small way to help VHA obtain funds for supplies during the year.  Note: See Page 4 for more details.
